Peer Tutors provide support for over 250 subject areas including math, science, and writing. Peer Tutoring aims to help students develop the academic study skills and confidence needed to succeed in their courses.
The Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence (MCAE) is a community-based space focused on the academic experiences of first-generation students, students of Color, and American Indian students. MCAE peer tutors work collaboratively with participants to increase students' confidence in their academic material, support students in having a sense of home on-campus, and provide tools to navigate the University of Minnesota. MCAE offers unlimited drop-in and appointment peer tutoring. MCAE tutors provide one-with-one peer tutoring in math, science, writing, languages, and more.
APARC supports Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) students in their college experience and personal development. APARC Peer Tutoring aims to develop academic skills and confidence of AAPI students to thrive in the classroom and campus community. Peer tutor support is available in multiple subjects including math, science, and writing.
SELS is a free service that offers 45-minute consultations to international undergraduate students to help further develop their English skills. During a consultation, students can work with trained consultants on any English language skill, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, pronunciation, and cultural adaptation. Students can bring in specific assignments or work on more general English language goals.
