Peer tutors provide support for over 250 subject areas including math, biology, physics, chemistry, writing, and more. Peer tutoring aims to help students develop the academic study skills and confidence needed to succeed in their courses.
The Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence (MCAE) tutors provide support for math, science, writing, and more. MCAE peer tutors work collaboratively with students to increase confidence in their academic material. MCAE is a community-based space focused on the academic experiences of first-generation students, students of Color, and American Indian students.
Student English Language Support (SELS) is a free service that offers 45-minute consultations to international undergraduate students to help further develop their English skills. During a consultation, students can work with trained consultants on any English language skill, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, pronunciation, and cultural adaptation. Students can bring in specific assignments or work on more general English language goals.
Department based academic support is provided at tutor/help labs in the following areas:
- CLA language program
- Physics help lab
- Spanish & Portuguese lab
Additionally, all instructors have office hours available to help students. Office hours are listed on the Canvas course site.
